Building a Better Bahamas

Our commitment extends beyond the projects we deliver. Sigma supports Bahamian talent, local suppliers and initiatives that strengthen the communities where we live and work.

Community

We recognise that construction affects the communities around each project. Through responsible site practices, local employment and community support, we seek to make a positive contribution wherever we work.

Our crews are Bahamian. Our engineers, architects and superintendents are Bahamian. When a Sigma project finishes, the skills, the wages and the experience stay on the island.

Our Commitments

Three commitments that hold on every project, whoever the client is.

Youth sport sponsorship

Sigma sponsored a youth basketball program hosted by Pro-Motion, supporting young Bahamian players through the summer season.

Training the next generation

Every Sigma site is a working environment where people learn the trade. Entry level roles are a genuine route into the industry, with training provided and a path from trade to supervision for people who want it.

Hiring and buying Bahamian

Bahamian engineers, Bahamian superintendents, Bahamian trades and Bahamian suppliers wherever the specification allows. The value of the work stays in the communities where we build.

Sponsorship

This summer Sigma sponsored a youth basketball program hosted by Pro-Motion. Supporting young Bahamians in sport sits naturally alongside how we approach our industry: give people structure, give them coaching, and give them a route forward.

Community Event

In December 2025 Sigma supported the fourth annual Mount Thompson Family Fun Day and Give Back, held at the Mount Thompson Homecoming Site in Exuma.

Entry was free. The day ran on food, music from Exuma DJs, a bouncing castle, face painting and gifts for the children who came through. Sigma was one of several Bahamian companies backing it.

Our support for this event reflects a wider commitment to communities throughout The Bahamas, including the Family Islands.

Industry

Sigma on the Green is our team turning out for the Chamber of Commerce golf event, alongside the suppliers, consultants and contractors we work with year round.

The event provides an opportunity to strengthen relationships with the suppliers, consultants and contractors who contribute to construction across The Bahamas.

Training The Next Generation

Two of our summer apprentices, in their own words.

Meet MJ, a Sigma summer apprentice, in a Sigma hard hat and hi-vis vest. MJ says: I really enjoyed working at Sigma. I learned a lot and got to see construction in a completely different way. I would encourage any young person who is interested in construction to take advantage of the Sigma Summer Apprenticeship opportunity. Meet Kendell Miller, a Sigma summer apprentice, in a hard hat and hi-vis shirt. Kendell says: Working with Sigma taught me a lot about how the construction industry works. I had the opportunity to see different trades up close and understand how they all come together on a project. It was a great learning experience and gave me a better understanding of the construction field.
